  • MEGGER Teleflex LV Monitor | Portable TDR for LV and CFL

The Teleflex LV Monitor is for the location of faults on low voltage cables, especially for the detection if intermittent fault, which result in specific difficulties. Additionally the voltage and current waveforms are recorded. The stored data is retrieved from a PC or Notebook via Bluetooth or via a telephone connection (Line or GSM). In opposition to other portable reflectometers, the Teleflex LV monitor is permanent and simultaneous connected to all three phases of the LV cables and permits the user to do a reflection measurement on all the phases and their combinations, either locally or in remote operation. The supply of the Teleflex LV Monitor happens by one of the connected phases.

  • MEGGER PIL 8 | Cable Phase Identification

The Phase identification System PIL 8 permits a fast and especially safe phase determination at the jointing location during the mounting of medium voltage cables. According to DIN VDE 0105 0100 part 2 (EN 50110-1) from Oct. 1997, Pos. 6.2.4.1 Topic 3 (Page 12) it specifies : "... If the earthing or shorting has to be removed for the duration of measurements or tests, suitable other safety measures have to be taken.” Such safety measures require a relatively large effort and are not always practical. The specific advantage of the technology used in the PIL 8 is the fact, that the ground or shorting must not be removed. In opposition, this grounding it is an essential part of the procedure, which means, the cable must be grounded and shorted for the system to work. Resulting the use is absolutely safe. For each phase the according transceiver clamp are installed tot he grounded cable end and then at the selection point each phase is identified and marked.

  • MEGGER Detex | Voltage Detector

For use on any grounded electrical system, DETEX Voltage Detectors are available in seven models that cover a range from distribution class to transmission line voltages up to 550 kV. Biddle offers six electronic "beeper" models and one model with LED indication for greater visibility when testing indoors. The beeper-style electronic detectors provide audible and visual indication of the presence of phase-to-ground ac voltages, in accordance with ANSI C84.1-1982 standards. The 6.9-kV model is equipped with a telescopic pole. All other models are fitted for universal spline mounting on a hot line pole rated for the voltage of the system being tested. Electronic voltage detectors for use on distribution line voltages (Cat. No. 514360 series) provide a single red LED. Detectors rated for transmission line voltages (Cat. No. 514242 series) provide four LEDs for improved visibility at greater distances. The LED-indicating voltage detector is designed for indoor testing of grounded ac systems. A bright LED indicator provides easy visibility in poor lighting conditions. During testing, the presence of voltages within the detector's operating range will illuminate the bright LED lamp. A built-in piezoelectric voltage source provides a test feature to ensure that the detector is operative before use. The self-test is activated by a pushbutton. The LED detector is equipped with a 48-in. (1219-mm) telescopic pole calibrated and marked for voltages within the ratings of the detector. These demarcations assist the user in adjusting the pole to the length required for safe operation. The pole retracts to 34 in. (864 mm) for convenient storage in a vinyl carrying case when not in use.

  • MEGGER digiPHONE + | Cable Fault pinpointing

The Digiphone plus pinpoints underground cable faults with unprecedented accuracy and sets a new standard by applying innovative audio concepts. This combination results in a pinpointing device for highresistive faults that is unsurpassed in sensitivity. Digiphone plus works off the “thunder and lightning principle” of fault location. In the same way you can measure how far away a storm is by counting the distant between a faster lightning flash and its slower thunder, this pinpointer works by measuring the energy around an underground fault. If you think of the flashover at a fault as the lightning, the Digiphone measures distance by figuring timing between that electromagnetic “flash” and the seismic (or acoustic) jolt also created at the moment of flashover.
